Versatility of use of nasolabial flap in reconstruction of maxillofacial defects: Our experience
Abstract
The Nasolabial flap has been utilized for the reconstruction of oro-facial soft tissue defects. This highly efficient and technically straightforward procedure has evolved into a workhorse and essential tool for most of the oral and maxillofacial surgeons. This procedure can be carried forward using local and general anesthesia. Its main advantage is its ease of harvesting, abundant blood supply and minimal donor site morbidity. In this paper, we are going to describe different applications of nasolabial flaps for the reconstruction of defects with respect to the maxillofacial area.
