Il lessico della tipologia umorale
Abstract
The typology of the characters based on the four humours was spread in the West by Vindicianus’s Letter to Pentadius and by Bede’s De temporum ratione, but the origin of this typology is Greek, as revealed by several Byzantine texts. The transmission of the typology from Greek to Latin was ensured by translations, but also by adjustments, in cultural and historical contexts which have only been partially explored.
