Peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) are used as first-line central venous catheters for the delivery of chemotherapy and supportive care in cancer patients. However, PICCs-related complications, such as phlebitis, blockage, infection and allergic dermatitis may increase the level of pain and affect the following treatment. This paper summarized the nursing experience of allergic dermatitis after PICC placement in a breast cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy. Based on analyzing the relevant factors of allergic dermatitis and syndrome differentiation, timely medication, psychological intervention, dietary guidance, and other nursing interventions were carried out to relieve the local symptoms such as sitching, inflammation, rash and redness.
