Fifty one plant species belonging to thirty one families are used for the treatment and management of diseases such as measles, diabetes, stroke, jaundice, malaria, typhoid, hypertension, gonorrhoea and rheumatism. The list provides useful information on medicinal plants and their uses. This may serve as a lead for further scientific studies aimed at ascertaining the veracity or otherwise the therapeutic claims ascribed to the plants by the indigenous people of the region.
