Teaching students of general secondary schools writing in foreign languagues in the aspect of the competency based approach

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of teaching foreign language written communication in the conditions of the competency based approach. The features of written communication in foreign languages are analysed. The components of foreign language competence in writing are described. The factors that influence the formation of competence in writing are studied. The stages of teaching writing are named. Exercises for teaching writing are considered. Means of teaching and assessment of foreign language competence in writing are defined.
