La fabrication de la Labor Geography
Abstract
Andrew Herod, Professor at the University of Georgia (UGA), USA, is the first and perhaps foremost architect of "Labor Geography", an expression he has coined to describe a specific approach rather than a simple research object or theme. In an epistolary interview in English, here translated and reworked, he agreed to talk about his personal trajectory and the circumstances that led him to propose this new orientation. Inscribed in the Marxist tradition of David Harvey or Neil Smith, who supervised his doctoral dissertation, his geography of workers differs in several respects. Andrew Herod recalls the main points and issues at stake, the strategies implemented to promote it and the points of debate it may have highlighted and provoked.
