A device mismatch seriously degrades the accuracy of its noisefigure characterization. A new second stage correction technique forhighly mismatched device under test is proposed and compared to thestandard technique. The presented method is based on additional vectormeasurement. It takes into account measuring receiver noise figuredependence on the DUT output mismatch besides an available gaincorrection. Significant accuracy improvement of measured data anddecreased error variation is demonstrated. The suggested method is inprinciple able to eliminate all systematic errors in noise figuremeasurement.
