Abstract

This essay shows how the methodology of Genetic Criticism can help Translation Studies and vice-versa. It proposes an interdisciplinary approach. This argument is illustrated through the analysis of manuscripts produced by the Italian poet Virgillito. In dealing with this complex corpus, principles of Genetic Criticism and of Descriptive Translation Studies have been used in line with the new paradigm of the systemic approach. It aims to combine different fields of study, as well as to analyze, describe, gather more knowledge about and explain this subject
