O habitus professoral: o objeto dos estudos sobre o ato de ensinar na sala de aula
Abstract
This article is an attempt to define the proposed concept of professorial habitus, a process that has beenunder way since the end of the 1980´s. However, the attempt to produce amore stable theoretical structure forthe concept took until the end of the1990s. Professorial habitus is thetheoretical-methodological way ofbuilding a resource capable ofexplaining teachers behaviour and,above all, of re-addressing the objectof study directed at the act of teachingin the classroom. The place of theoryand practice in the formation andactivity of teachers was investigatedsimultaneously and, at the same time,served as a tool for formulating theconcept in question. The ideas ofPierre Bourdieu and Edward PalmerThompson (habitus and experience)constituted the core of the theoreticalframework of this investigation.
