Sartre and the genealogy

Abstract

The article analyzes the fourth part of "Being and nothingness". In the study of action, Sartre would have used the genealogical method to define the notion of freedom by exploring the discussion of freedom between determinism and free will. Through genealogy, Sartre would have defined the three key features of the action: the intention, negativity and fiction. Finally, this study allowed the author to demonstrate the peculiar relationship between the future and the present in the human condition.
