Hemobilia
Abstract
We present three cases of patients with hemobilia that have been managed in the Surgical Service of San Juan de Dios Hospital of Bogota, in the last two years. All these cases were caused by blunt trauma or penetrating wounds. On one of these cases, multiples surgical operations were practiced before entering the hospital and before doing any exact diagnosis. Once the diagnosis was done draining of the intra-hepatic collection, ligation of the bile-vascular fistula and a selective ligation of the hepatic artery were practiced. Post surgery evolution of patients was satisfactory. Finally, attention to this clinic entity recognized since XVII century is made, but up to now it keeps being lately identified, thus leading to these patients are lost.
