From virtual to real. A wood model for the philological reconstruction of the Alessandrino district, in the Central Archaeological Area of Rome

Abstract

The contribution illustrates the result of years of research carried out by the Department of Architecture of Roma Tre on the virtual reconstruction of the Alessandrino district demolished in favor of Via dell'Impero in the 1930s. The search for archival documents, the digitization, the reconstruction of a highly detailed virtual model, the search for sources and historical photographs, all come together in the effort to create a wood model for the Museum of Rome, thanks to continued cultural relations with the Capitoline Superintendency.
