Le sfide del Diritto Romano nel contesto europeo contemporaneo
Abstract
The legal legacy of ancient Rome, culminating in the monumental Justinian codification, transcends the mere historical dimension to project itself vigorously into contemporary debate. Far from being relegated to the role of archaeological vestiges of legal thought, Roman law is configured as a dynamic intellectual resource, capable of illuminating the complex challenges that Europe, and the globalized world, are facing. In an era marked by unprecedented interconnections and growing social and legal stratification, the Roman ratio, intrinsically universalistic and constantly oriented towards the principles of iustitia and aequitas, can offer a hermeneutic and pragmatic contribution of inestimable value for the construction of a legal order that harmonizes the protection of fundamental rights with the promotion of an authentically inclusive social cohesion.
