Selective fasciculotomy and neurostimulation in spasticity hand treatment

Abstract

The efficacy of spasticity hand treatment using selective fasciculotomy, combined with radial nerve stimulation or without it, were studied. Treatment results at 21 patients, been operated because of spasticity hand, were analyzed. At 7 patients fasciculotomy was performed together with application of neurostimulator on radial nerve. Selective fasciculotomy is an effective method for spasticity hand treatment. Additional timely stimulation of radial nerve improves hand’s functions significantly due to extensors activity increasing.
