The article is aimed at researching the efficiency of strategic planning in today’s environment on the scientific, theoretical and methodological base, which fully takes into account the specifics of domestic agrarian production. It is identified that strategic planning is of systemic nature of agricultural production, based on harmonization of the interests of all its subjects and mechanisms for the implementation of the chosen strategy, ensures their efficient functioning in various natural-economic conditions. It is specified that strategic planning is widely used in the agrarian sector of the countries with developed market relations, as it allows to structure the complexity of managerial decision-making, as well as the capability of being more active in terms of formation of a strategy in the face of complexity and uncertainty, and it usually does not cause conflicts in the socio-psychological sphere. The carried out analysis of the specifics of agricultural production shows that each feature is connected with a number of problems of the production, managerial, and socio-psychological nature, which can provide systematization of the considered, as well as other important sectoral features, to develop an appropriate theoretical-methodological framework for strategic planning in the agrarian sector of the economy. It is proposed in the process of strategic planning to take into account the peculiarity of agrarian production regarding the influence of natural and social factors, as well as special economic conditions, which determine the special role of the State in the systematic impact on the agrarian industry. After all, strategic planning is called to provide a common focus on the development of agribusiness, to help preserving the diversity of economic entities with a concerted movement towards a common goal, with the general support on the part of the State.
