Czym był krakowski Okół?
Abstract
Okół, initially described by sources as a “new town” (nova civitas), in the first half of the fourteenth century, functioned within the Krakow settlement complex as an autonomous territory. It is generally accepted that Okół was established due to a decision of Prince Władysław the Short. However, its origin and legal status continue to be the subject of complex his torical debates, signifi cantly aff ecting the general understanding of the processes of colonisation under German law in Polish territories
