Abstract
This paper examines the representation of history in La lengua del malón, a novel published by Guillermo Saccomanno in 2003, with special focus on the metafictional characteristics of the novel, as well as its dialogue with 19th century Argentine literature, and with another historical novel, Artificial Respiration, by Ricardo Piglia.
