The article describes the preliminary findings of a research aimed at improving the in-service teaching practice of would-be teachers in Ecuador. A diagnostic test was given to the subjects of the sample to identify shortcoming and making a critical evaluation of the teachers’ training process and the actual performance of students of education of Manabí College of Education doing in-service practice at primary school. The findings include the proposal of a collective reflective model in the training process of basic education teacher in Ecuador. teachers training, in-service teaching practice, collective reflection.
