Adaptation of Psycho-Social Aspects of Facebook Use (PSAFU) Scale to Turkish
Abstract
Facebook app is widely used in the world as a social media tool. In addition to examining the behavioral movements of users, such as the frequency of site use and the time they spend on the site, the examination of the psycho- social aspects of the application is important for in-depth information on application. The aim of this research is to adapt the scale developed by Bodroza and Jovanovic (2016) to Turkish in order to determine the psycho-social aspects of Facebook usage. In line with this aim, primarily translation in Turkish process has been realized. After the translation, the final scale was shaped based on the opinion of field experts. Confirmatory factor analysis was carried out for the purpose of examining the validity of the prepared scale. According to the analysis results, acceptable adaptation values computed (χ2 / sd = 2.039, RMSA = 0.052, SRMR = 0.059, CFI = 0.95).The Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient of the scale was 0.905.In the light of these findings, it is understood that the measurement scale adapted to the scope of research is a measurement tool that can be used to determine the psycho-social aspects of Facebook.
