HIPPOCAMPUS AND ITS ROLE IN DEVELOPMENT OF BILINGUALISM (MULTILINGUALISM)

Abstract

The influence of hippocampus is researched in the article. The purpose of the paper is the description of hippocampus, its functions in foreign language teaching (short- and long-term memory, analyze, synthesis and memorizing information, logical thinking, forming associated words combinations, skills to product writing and oral speech, etc. Hippocampus is a division (gyrus) of the brain, it has influence to man’s ability to learn foreign languages. Hippocampus is described in the article in aspects of its functions, periods of growing, methods of its development and reasons of its reduction. The role of hippocampus in formation of bilingual/multilingual person is described in the research [1. С. 162].
