Abstract Pediatric simulation has become one of the latest tools for providing real-time, hands-on training for the pediatric resident and fellow to improve not only confidence but possibly outcomes in actual emergencies. This resource is a high-fidelity simulation scenario for cardiac tamponade and includes an instructor guide, references, scenario script, participant survey tool, and key points to remember. Since July 2009, we have developed this pediatric simulation program for the residents in the pediatrics department to further their education and training. We have been able to utilize interactive infant and adult-sized high-fidelity mannequins in the simulation suites for a variety of mock code scenarios.
