Professional Learning Level of School Managers Performing at Different Career Stages
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop a scale to determine the professional learning level of school managers at different career stages. The empirical questionnaire which is designed for this purpose has been presented to the experts in order to take their opinion. In accordance with the Feedback received from experts, the content validity ratio of the articles has been determined. The articles whose content validity ratio is below 80 have been excluded from the study content. The trial test which comprises 58 articles has been introduced to 520 school managers at different carreer stages and the data has been analyzed. With exploratory factor analysis, it came up with a five dimensional structure having 41 articles such as ‘Personal and professional development’, ‘school climate’, ‘learning culture’, ‘confidence’ and ‘learning from colleagues’. In analysis, the relation between scale and subscale has been considered and it is clear that there is meaningful relation between them. Also via analysis it has been confirmed that the sub-dimensions establish a superstructure in determining the professional learning level of school managers.
