ABORIGINE CULTURAL LANDSCAPES OF THE RUSSIAN ARCTIC: IDENTIFICATION AND MAPPING
Abstract
Aborigine cultural landscapes of the Russian Arctic are preserved in two forms: really existing and virtual. Because of their original structure and progressive process of dissipation they must be regarded as natural-cultural heritage. Difficulties of their identification are connected with presence of semantic objects as their elements, multi-scale-structure etc. Methods of small-scale mapping of cultural landscapes are described and used for mapping of Saami and Nenets cultural landscapes at the North of the European part of Russia.
