Abstract

In this article you will learn what science knows about humor, their functions and benefits for effective communication. Also analyze the psychologicalfunctions of humor. After reflecting on the semiotic perspective as a language of humor, humorous discuss those resources to get the message of oral communication more attractive, memorable and persuasive. We end by presenting some «tricks» on how to successfully overcome unforeseen situations. We close the chapter by offering some guidelines as a «roadmap» for those.
