Highly efficient, iodide catalysed propargylamines synthesis via A3 coupling reaction
Abstract
A new and facile methodology was developed for the synthesis of a wide variety of synthetically important propargylamines via the A3 coupling reaction of aryl aldehydes, phenyl acetylenes, and amines. The reaction was catalyzed by tetra-butyl ammonium iodide (TBAI) in solvent acetonitrile utilizing a multi-component approach. The reaction is unique in the way that it operates smoothly in the air at optimum temperature in shorter reaction duration without any metal catalyst and is high yielding.
