This research was carried out at the Graduate Program in Education of FCT / UNESP. The study was conducted at two institutions Childhood Education from two cities of São Paulo and arose from an action research that proved the lack of appreciation and understanding of the child's imagination by professionals in these institutions. The theoretical framework was composed by the sociology of childhood and studies of Paul L. Harris. The research aimed to promote a greater understanding of children's imaginative language of the subjects involved and used the action research as a methodology. Among the results we highlight the production of knowledge about the child's imagination and expanding the imaginative experience of participating children.
