Abstract The CuS nanoparticle was firstly synthesized and then loaded with ovalbumin (OVA) as a platform (CuS/OVA) for combination of photothermal and immunogenic therapy of osteosarcoma. The CuS with photothermal activity was able to generate heat under laser irradiation to kill cancer cells. Moreover, the enzymatic activity was shown to exert the potential to catalyse the degradation of H2O2 in the tumour microenvironment to alleviate the hypoxia condition. Due to this tumour modulation effect, the delivered antigen OVA can be effectively presented to the dendritic cell (DC) for enhanced immunotherapy of osteosarcoma.
