Comunicación y consentimiento informado en servicios de Ortopedia y Neurocirugía del Hospital Provincial de Camagüey Communication and informed consent at the Orthopedics and Neurosurgery Services of Camagüey’s Manuel Ascunce Domenech Hospital

Abstract

Se presenta un estudio descriptivo transversal realizado para caracterizar la comunicación médico-paciente y el consentimiento informado en los servicios de Ortopedia y Neurocirugía del Hospital Provincial Universitario Manuel Ascunce Domenech de Camagüey, entre noviembre 2009 y enero 2010. Se encuestó a los especialistas para identificar el nivel de conocimiento sobre estos aspectos bioéticos. Los resultados mostraron una comunicación inefectiva y negligencias con el consentimiento informado.The article presents a cross-sectional, descriptive study carried out to characterize both doctor-patient communication and request of informed consent at Camagüey´s Manuel Ascunce Domenech University Provincial Hospital, from November 2009 to January 2010. Specialists were interviewed to identify their level of knowledge about these bioethical subjects. Results confirmed an inefficient communication and negligence with the informed consent.
