Islamic Insurgency in Algeria: An Operational Causal Analysis

Abstract

This article is exploratory in nature, it attempts to explain the so-called resurgence of political Islam in Algeria after it independence, as well as the possible contributions of the Islamists towards the promotion of the extension of the geopolitics of Islamism. It will focus also on the nature of the fundamentalist challenge in Algeria and what does the Algerian experience tell us about the phenomenon of radical Islam. This study will be utilizing a three-dimensional methodology conceptual-operational-explanatory it is hoped that such a complex methodological framework will yield a more exhaustive understanding of the phenomenon its different dimensions.
