In order to solve the problems of high water consumption and poor atomization effect of mine swirl nozzles, the relevant parameters that affect the spray effect are proposed: the spiral angle of the swirl core, the length ratio of the nozzle contraction section to the swirl section. CFD fluid mechanics and VOF multiphase flow theory are used to numerically analyze the flow field inside the nozzle. The simulation results show that the spiral angle of the swirl core has a great influence on the nozzle exit speed and turbulent flow energy. Properly increasing the spiral angle according to the needs is beneficial to improve the atomization effect. The nozzle exit speed increase is the most obvious when the inlet pressure is the same at 40°; reasonable selection of the length ratio of the contraction section to the swirl section can effectively improve the atomizing ability of the nozzle. When the length of the two is equal, the peak of the horizontal center velocity of the outlet is located at the axis, the water outflow is uniform, and the spray effect is better.
