Manifestaciones rupestres en la cuenca del río Las Tunas (valle de Uco, Mendoza, RCA Argentina): espacios y simbolismo
Abstract
The analysis of a set of rock engravings is presented by describing their formal aspects, the analysis of its spatial distribution in the area and the relationships between them and the environmental context. These rocks are distributed in a linear axis of circulation that connects two opposing environmental sectors, the mountain and the plain. A pattern based on a binary conception of the environment is recognized, where the carvings are closely linked to the micro-regional transit routes in the west-east direction and vice versa. In this sense, we propose that the rock engravings reflect material-economic and cognitive-mental aspects the culture and its structuring and symbolic organization of the landscape.
