This article aims to make some reflections on issues that concern them: geography of contemporary professionals about teaching and study of the city. This work aims to analyze the city's education in school geography. Considering that the introduction of the subject in the classroom in the apprehension of geographic space is important. The methodology used in grounded through bibliographical studies in a qualitative perspective about the way teachers work the city teaching in geography lessons. These perspectives was found that within the school geography teaching the city is covered reductionist and artificially due to educational resources that do not deal and do not include the city as a constant reference place.
