The Cheka – OGPU – NKVD on the protection of the economic security of the state: a historiographical review

Abstract

Backround. The relevance of the research is determined by the need for a comprehensive and objective analysis of historiography on the problem under study. The purpose of the study is to reflect the activities of state security agencies to protect the economic security of the state. Materials and methods. The study was conducted on the basis of an analysis of the literature on the topic under study. Methodological potential includes: philosophical principles of dialectics, namely objectivity, scientific, comprehensiveness, unity of historical, logical and others. Results. In the course of writing the article, the main task was solved – to characterize the state of modern historiography of the problem. Conclusions. In the Soviet and post-Soviet periods, researchers have done considerable work to study the history of the activities of state security agencies. However, there are very few major generalizing works on the protection of the economic security of the USSR.
