Geography is one of the most important branches of human knowledge that can be the place of manifestation of national components. A realistic understanding of natural and human phenomena, a study of the history of places, and the citation of historical evidence to determine the boundaries of a group of peoples also involve the creation of a mental realm behind which it is possible to define "us" and "the others". This article seeks to formulate the relationship between the national components considered by the government in the second Pahlavi period and how to make scientific propositions in geographical textbooks, referring to the methodological principles of Ruth Wodak's theory of historical discourse analysis. Finally, the methods and techniques of defining Iran as a political entity during the content of geography textbooks in the second Pahlavi period will be examined to show how government interventions in the arrangement of information in geography textbooks correspond to national interests and to strengthen the pillars.
