The purposes and contents of the teaching of Social and Human Sciences are a concern in a diversity of educational research. For a long time, it has been interesting to know what relationship is established between the political and educational purposes, enunciated in the curricular documents, with the specific practices that the teachers carry out in the history and social sciences classes. Aspects that, among others, contribute to thinking about the citizenship that is promoted in two specific provinces of the argentine North-Patagonia. This work presents an analytical and comparative description of a research that seeks, among other aspects, to describe and analyze, within the framework of the new curricular designs of the Provinces of Río Negro and Neuquén: What education is thought for the new school in Río Negro and Neuquén? What purposes are proposed for the teaching of social sciences and history? What contents are suggested for teaching? Dimensions that outline a general panorama of the relationships between educational policies (curriculum), aims and theoretical perspectives (contents) in the new school of Río Negro and Neuquén.
