Dispute over the cultural sense. Discursive representations and strategies in the chronicles of Juan Villoro
Abstract
Focused on the chronicles of Juan Villoro we investigate instances of interpellation to the modern literary tradition. Indeed, scenes, situations and stories call into question myths of the writer, reading autobiographies, hegemonic cultural representations, in short, official knowledge, institutions and their consecrated practices. These disputes over the meaning of culture are part of the countercultural movements of the late twentieth century in Latin America. In this paper, we address this problem through the analysis of the main thematic topics, self-configuration and the myth of origin. And, at the level of discursive resources, we point out the use of definition as a strategy for the subjective reworking of the real.
