Abstract

Marxism is the theory that supports social change and development in the Tamil literary world. It is a philosophy that has contributed much to the modern world. Marxism is a philosophy developed for the ruled class instead of a philosophical perspective that was only for the interests of the ruling class. That is, the theory of Marxism was developed for the interests and liberation of the working class. The Marxist approach to social welfare and change plays a major role. Science is based on known facts. Marxism aims to free man from the social evils and miseries that still affect human society today and lead to the development of society. In the history of poetry, some of the poets belonging to the Commonwealth Party are notable. Among them was the Tamil poet Gnanakoothan. Because he was completely inspired by Marxism, his poems openly record the injustices and miseries happening in society and the condition of the working class. The far-sighted view of society and the positions of the workers in his poems does not lead to boredom when reading them, rather it creates awareness and change in the Tamil society. Finding answers to the problems of human life in Marxism is the speciality of the poet. The purpose of this research paper is to do a Marxist approach to the poems of the Tamil poet Gnanakoothan.
