Springback Analysis in the Bending Process of V-shaped Stainless Steel AISI 304 Using Central Composite Design (CCD) Approach
Abstract
This study's principal goal is to investigate how the punch angle and punch radius impact the optimum springback during stainless steel sheet made of AISI 304 bent. Central Composite Designs (CCD) are employed for experimental design and statistical evaluation to determine the optimal springback. The experimental factors include punch angle (85,0°, 87,5°, 90,0°), punch radius (1,0 mm, 1,5 mm, 2,0 mm) with a constant 3200 Newton bending force. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) yields a substantial mathematical model that is quadratic for predicting the optimal springback. The attainment of optimal springback is foreseen through an ideal bending procedure employing a punch characterized by a 1,2 mm radius and an 89,7° angle, resulting in an anticipated average springback of 0,29°. Hence, the combination of punch angle and punch radius is pivotal in attaining the intended bending angle.
