Understanding of love and humility in the theological thought archimandrite Sophrony (Sakharov)

Abstract

The article is devoted to the understanding of love and humility, as expressed in the constructions the famous Orthodox theologian XX century – Archimandrite So-phronius (Sakharov). Significant attention is given to the proposed Fr. Sophrony theological understanding of the ascetic experience of love and humility, as well as the identification of relations between concepts love and humility with such theological concepts as hypos-tasis, hypostatic image of being, kenosis, adoption, and others. In the first part of the article reveals the teach-ing father Sophronia of love and humility in God's ex-istence. The latter part explains the place and impor-tance of love and humility in being human, understood as the image and likeness of God.
