Demonología organizacional y saberes vampiros. El lado oscuro de las organizaciones. Un viaje guiado al inframundo organizacional
Abstract
This essay aims to explore and track the “dark side” of organizations. We are interested in the instinctual and hidden dynamics that influence organizing. The essay brings the unimaginable into the real of the imagination. Pandemonium is a metaphor for understanding organizational darkness. The dark side is not exceptional, it is part of the everyday organizational life, and therefore deserves as much attention from organizational studies as “normal” organizational activity does. The aim of this essay is to provide a critique of the conceptualization of the organization as it is to be found in the mainstream of Organizational Theory. The organizations have never been places of efficiency, goodness and beauty. The doctrine of objectivity and rationality is part of the brutalization and destructiveness in countless worklplaces. Pandemonium it is synonim for the repressed, ignored, denied, neglected.; i.g. “the other of the reason” (Böhme y Böhme, 1996). Pandemonium also represents the other, the return of “suppressed knowledge”, which is supposed to produce more human(e) organizations.
