The aim of this paper is to examine the issues of the performance of contemporary pop singers. For the development of a professional pop singer not only vocal and ensemble training, music and theoretical disciplines, but also dance and stage movement are of great importance. Results. The author considers the role of body mobility, choreography and stage movement in the process of developing a stage image while preparing a variety show performance. A complex of expressive measures giving freedom of choice for self-expression and presentation of an author’s intention, as well as contributing to the creation of a unique stage image, manifestation of acting skills of the performing artist-vocal singer is developed. The author substantiates the necessity of improvising and experimenting while preparing a variety show performance. The paper presents the practical recommendations for staging the performances of pop singers. Novelty. In addition to vocal singing, body mobility, stage movement, choreography and acting skills are of great importance for professional staging the variety show performances. According to the present study, for the professional training of pop singers at the institutions of higher education it is necessary to teach them the art of vocal singing in combination with above mentioned components. The practical significance. The information contained in this paper can be used for the further development of new pop singer performances, in the process of practical training while teaching choreography, body mobility and acting skills.
