COLOURED (STAINED) GLASS WINDOW – TECHNICAL AND ARTISTIC PECULIARITIES

Abstract

The present paper introduces in scientific use the technical peculiarities of coloured (stained) glass window art, presenting diff erent types of its production, methods of artistic glass processing etc. Emphasis is laid on the artistic peculiarities of the coloured glass window as against the architectural space. The author presents historical data concerning the evolution of this art in the context of universal culture. Special attention is given to the commissioned works by foreign artists for our national space.
