This article aims to analyze the main results and considerations of the theses and dissertations defended in Brazil from 1985 to 2015, with a focus on the training of teachers who teach Mathematics in Youth and Adult Education (EJA). It is based on authors in the areas of Mathematics Education, EJA and teacher training; with methodological support in qualitative research, like state-of-the-art. Its analysis material consists of 2 theses and 10 dissertations, raised through the study called “Panorama of Brazilian research in Youth and Adult Mathematics Education (1985-2015)”. As a result, it presents an overview of theses and dissertations and concludes, through them, about the flagrant lack of specific training of teachers who teach Mathematics at EJA, a certain “neglect” and “silencing” of initial training courses regarding this modality and the distance between university and school.
