Managing the motivation of teachers’ professional activities at comprehensive schools.

The urgency of studying the problems on managing the motivation of teachers’ professional activities at comprehensive schools, defined by strategic state educational documents, is actualized in the article. The foreign theories of motivation of professional activities are generalized. It is stated that although they are developed on the basis of western experience, it is important to use their ideas practically in the motivational management of the heads of educational institutions of modern Ukraine. This is illustrated by examples of specific recommendations for managers. The problems and disadvantages of management of the motivation of teachers’ professional activities are distinguished. It is proved that the complexity of the problem on managing the motivation of activities is due to the lack of a unified approach to the definition of the concept of motivation in the domestic scientific circles, the presence of various classifications of motives of teachers’ professional activities. It is stated that the term «motivation» is considered in science in three aspects: psychological, pedagogical and managerial concept. It is noted that managing the motivation of teachers’ professional activities is a process of motivating employees to carry out effective activities aimed at achieving the goals of the educational institution. It is stressed that managers should ensure that the system of motivation in a comprehensive school be based on the systematic principle, the principles of integrity, targeting, flexibility, transparency and dynamism in order to ensure effective management of the motivation of teachers’ activities. The prospect of further researches consists in substantiation of forms and methods of the system of managing the motivation of teachers’ activities at comprehensive schools.
