In the text we present theoretical reflections that point out the relevance of problematizing theories and practices as a necessary principle for teacher education. Based on a theoretical dialogue between Freirean Pedagogy, Research-Action and Educating through Research, our goal is to understand how Educating through Research dialogues with these references. In Freire and Educar pela Pesquisa, ideas are shared, such as: the importance of continuing education; the problematization and reflection of the practice; the approximation between theory and practice. Research-Action and Educating through Research value continued education, with active, problematic and reflective participation. Therefore, Educating through Research maintains proximity in its ideas with Freirean Pedagogy and Action-Research.
