Social Sciences Students' Perceptions of Successful University Professors Characteristics at Masielah University as an un put of Teaching Quality Abstract: This study aimed at recognizing the characteristics of the successful university professor from the view of social sciences Students in M'SILA University. The study also seeks answers for the following questions: • What are the major characteristics of the University successful professor? • Are there any significant differences in the characteristics of the successful university professor related to the variable of gender? In order to answer these questions, a questionnaire formed consisted of two parts. The first part contains demographic questions; while the second part contains (20) items divided into three groups: one concerned with psychological character­istics of the University professor, the other one concerned with social characteris­tics, while the third concerned with professional characteristics. The questionnaire which applied on 114 students indicates that social characteristics ranked at the top and the psychologi­cal and the Professional characteristics ranked at the end. Also, the results of the study point out that there are no significant differences statistically speaking due to the variable of gender.
