The forms and directions of cooperation between Ukrainian zoologists and scientists from Slavic countries during 1961-1965 are analyzed. Areas of researches conducted by scientists in the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of the UkrSSR in the field of zoology were related to the development of scientific bases for conservation and transformation of animal natural resources, study of speciation processes, patterns of pathogens and vectors of diseases, development of biological bases for their elimination, study of patterns of individual and historical development of the animal life. In the marked chronological period, scientists of the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of the UkrSSR, Academicians V. H. Kasyanenko and A. P. Markevych, corresponding member I. H. Pidoplichko, Doctors of Biological Sciences P. M. Mazhuga, I. T. Sokur, S. F. Manziy and others, actively cooperated with scientists from Czechoslovakia, Poland, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria. On the basis of archival sources it was found out that the most common forms of international cooperation were: exchange of literature, information and collection material, field trips, participation in scientific events (conferences, seminars, meetings), publication the results of scientific research in the editions of academic institutions of Ukraine and Slavic countries, etc. Cooperation with the zoological institutions of Slavic countries seemed promising, given the territorial proximity, presence of common points of view on scientific problems relevant to both Ukraine and these countries. The period 1961-1965 was a time of intensive cooperation of Ukrainian zoologists with scientists of Slavic countries. Historical reconstruction of these links can be made on the basis of archival documents.
