IDENTITY, DIVERSITY AND TRANSDISCIPLINARY EXPERIENCE
Abstract
The present article aims at offering a discussion about the interactions among the gender-related identities and a transdisciplinary educational experience with regard to young students in basic education. As a starting point, this study relates the foundation of the Transdisciplinary Center of Humanities [NUTH] at Campus Engenho Novo II, Colégio Pedro II, and the First Workshop of Diversity (I Jornada da Diversidade) of NUTH which took place on October 2014. The authors briefly describe both the trajectory of NUTH and the construction of a transdisciplinary pedagogical project, having as references the themes of diversity and identity. These are cross-cutting themes worthy of consideration when developing students’ critical thinking and political consciousness, emphasising the relevance of acknowledging the Other within the Brazilian society in contemporary times.
