Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam used to be concentrated mainly on such areas as security, defen􀉫e, culture and education. Currently, under the general influence of the global economy, especially at a time when the United States and European Union countries are imposing tough sanctions against the Russian economy, Vietnam has become an important economic partner of Russia, therefore, economic cooperation between the two countries is expanding. One of the conditions for success in the international business communication is the knowledge of the partner’s language and culture, since each language has its own ways of expressing communicative intentions, the differences of which can cause failures in cross-cultural business communication. In this regard, the study of ways of expressing communicative intentions in each partner’s language becomes urgent. Based on this, the purpose of this article is to study Russian and Vietnamese stereotypes of communicative behavior, which should help optimise the efficiency of cross-cultural business communication between native Russian and Vietnamese speakers.
