Abstract

In this article I discuss the importance of plot not only in narratives but as a means of creating coherence and meaning in existence. There is a delicate balance of plot and characterization that is crucial in every narrative. The plot is a guideline, a means of discovery, and the characters and the content of the narrative are the stations that the plot visits, so to speak. It is crucial to acknowledge both plot and content in a narrative.
